Background

  1. An owner or operator shall create and maintain an electrical maintenance plan in collaboration with a Licensed Electrical Contractor with a valid ECRA/ESA licence.

  2. The owner and operator shall maintain any information and records necessary to demonstrate compliance with the electrical maintenance plan.

The new Apartment By-Law requirements take effect October 1, 2019, the City will allow limited time for each building to comply.  It is critical to engage professional engineers and experienced electricians to work out a practical  electrical maintenance plan with liability covered at a reasonable cost.
