Ontario has just announced its long-awaited Ultra-Low Overnight (ULO) price plan for electricity. Under this new price plan, eligible consumers will be further encouraged to shift their energy consumption away from daytime peak hours to later at night. Starting on May 1, this price plan features a 1000% difference between the On-Peak rate and the ULO rate, opening many new opportunities for consumers that can adapt.
Is This Good for Me?
The new ULO price plan breathes new life into energy projects such as on-site energy generation and energy storage that can decrease On-Peak energy consumption. Facilities can also benefit from largely overnight loads such as EV charging with minimal impact to their energy bill.
