EV Charging Solutions

If the electric vehicle (EV) sector continues to grow as projected, nearly half the vehicles sold in Canada in 2030 will be electric. That’s the outlook according to a new report from Clean Energy Canada, in partnership with Navius Research. The study, “The Fast Lane: Tracking the Energy Revolution 2019,” lays out a road map of Canada’s clean energy future and its role in the economy. Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) will be rolling out the much needed Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure (ZEVI) incentive program early next year. It is sponsored by NRCan and aims to cover 50% of the cost of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations for workplaces (commercial or industrial buildings), multi-residential buildings, public places and many others. We will be working with our clients to help them provide this important service for their customers, and utilize the incentive program with peace of mind.

SAE J1772 (J Plug) Standard Chargers:

  • Level 1 Charging: Included with vehicle, plugs into typical house (120V AC) outlet. Max power 1.92 kW

  • Level 2 Charging: Dedicated EV Charging device with SAE J1772 connector. Uses a dedicated 208V or 240V AC circuit, charges up to 7 times faster than Level 1. Max power 19.2 kW

  • DC/Fast Charging: Fastest way to charge a compatible EV. Bypasses vehicle charging circuitry, does not use J Plug

* Telsa vehicles have their own connector, but has adaptors to allow the J Plug

Outlined below are the key services we provide to our clients:


1. Data gathering:

  • Site visit by engineers

  • Determine the requirements and goals; number of charging stations needed, types, and locations.

2. Feasibility Study:

  • Assessment of building energy use profile

  • Pre-assessment and consulting with LDC to determine if it has spare capacity to supply the additional power for the property

  • Provision of EV charging stations system options with comparison of various configurations and power capacities

  • Preliminary financial analysis including annual cost, cost saving options, maintenance, capital cost and financing options

3. Incentive program application: Apply on behalf of our clients to the incentive program

4. Construction Contract options: Turnkey (Procure, construct, commission and project manage) contract or Project Management only contract

5. Operation and Maintenance contract options: Maintenance, emergency services and monitoring of EVCS stations for 5, 10, 15 or 20 years.
