In multi-residential buildings including apartments and condominiums, there are unavoidable operating costs. A 20% reduction in energy costs can reduce condo fees by 5% or more. It might not always be possible for tenants to adhere to a mindful approach when it comes to energy conservative, however, there are ways to lower your total operating costs. There is incentive for an apartment building to undertake an energy audit to identify where energy cost reductions make sense. The incentives from IESO, Enbridge Gas or the federal government can also help pay for upgrading to more energy-efficient building systems such as more efficient lighting systems, HVAC updates or automation systems.
