Statistics Canada has reported that the proportion of new vehicle registrations that are electric vehicles (EV) has dramatically increased compared to this same quarter last year. See summary list below for overview of EV registration growth:
New Vehicle Registration Growth
>4x more hybrid EV
>2x more battery EV
>2x more plug-in EV
Although part of this year's spike (compared to last year) in EV registration can be attributed to pandemic-related travel restrictions, the trend towards greater EV adoption can clearly be seen:
Currently "almost 1 in 20 new motor vehicle registrations are zero-emission vehicles" according to Stats Canada and as such the demand for EV charging stations will increase proportionately as more and more electric vehicles get on the road. Prepare your building to serve the growing demand for electric vehicles with the following steps:
Survey building user EV charger interest
Spare electrical capacity assessment
Feasibility study
