Effective starting September 20, 2021 Save on Energy's Retrofit Incentive program will have the following changes to their Prescriptive Measure Submissions process, eligible Measures and Tiers and incentive amounts:
New Submission Form and Selection Process
A new Measure Submission form has been made for the Retrofit Program update to facilitate their evaluation process detailed below:
"The evaluation of the submissions involves an in-depth, multi-stage review and approval process to ensure a measure addresses market needs and meets program requirements, including cost-effectiveness, and energy-efficiency policy objectives. As this process is highly detailed, the review can take several months to complete.
The IESO will be posting information on this webpage the first week of each month to provide updates on the status of the evaluation for measures that have been submitted for consideration."
See Sources/Further Reading for more info.
Changes to Eligible Measures and New Tiers
New Measures: Creep heat controller
As a response to program feedback, creep heat controllers are being added:
Creep heat controller
Creep heat controller | | Incentive per unit |
NEMA 4 or 4X. Must meet all applicable Code, standard, safety and regulatory requirements including CSA/UL/CUL | Only agricultural products designed for use in animal housing facilities are eligible. Eligibility requires each controller to control a minimum average of at least five lamps. | $200 |
Changes in Eligibility Requirements: Lighting
Additional requirements for T8 LED tubes and U-bend replacement lamps: UL Type B tubes will only be accepted if certified and listed under UL 1598c or CSA C22.2 standard and known as ""double ended."
New Tiers: Lighting and Demand Control Ventilation
In order to more accurately record energy savings, new tiers are being added to the following two measures summarized below, changes highlighted in blue:
LED medium and high bay fixtures
Existing worksheet categories | New worksheet categories | Incentive per unit |
≥ 8,900 lumens & ≤139 W | ≥ 10,000 lumens and ≤105 W | $50 |
| ≥ 12,200 lumens and ≤132 W | $50 |
≥ 15,000 lumens & ≤175 W | ≥ 15,500 lumens and ≤178 W | $90 |
New tier | ≥ 20,100 lumens and ≤305 W | $120 |
New tier | ≥ 34,700 lumens and >305 W | $150 |
Demand control ventilation systems in enclosed parking garages
Total exhaust fan capacity per DCV system | Incentive per DCV system |
>2.0 to ≤5 HP (new tier) | $660 |
>5 to ≤10 HP | $1,330 |
>10 & ≤25 HP | $3,320 |
>25 & ≤50 HP | $6,640 |
>50 & ≤75 HP | $9,950 |
>75 & ≤100 HP | $13,300 |
Updated Incentive Amounts
The table below lists the three lighting fixtures that will have their incentive amount reduced by $10:
Integral LED troffers & LED linear ambient fixtures
Measure | Existing Incentive per unit | Updated Incentive per unit |
---|---|---|
2' x 2' LED troffer or 2' LED linear ambient fixture ≥ 2,000 lumens | $30 per LED troffer or linear ambient fixture | $20 per LED troffer or linear ambient fixture |
1' x 4' LED troffer or 4' LED linear ambient fixture ≥ 1,500 lumens | $30 per LED troffer or linear ambient fixture | $20 per LED troffer or linear ambient fixture |
2' x 4' LED troffer or 4' LED linear ambient fixture ≥ 3,000 lumens | $40 per LED troffer or linear ambient fixture | $30 per LED troffer or linear ambient fixture |
